EdSource Appoints Ramon Baez to Its Board of Directors

Burlingame, CA (March 3, 2014) EdSource, a nonprofit research, policy, and communications organization established more than three decades ago, has expanded its Board of Directors with the appointment of Ramon Baez. The EdSource board is comprised of leading representatives of key education and management constituencies dedicated to ensuring that all children receive a high quality education.

Baez is senior vice president and chief information officer of Hewlett-Packard. He is also chairman of HP’s Global Diversity & Inclusion Board, a strategic governing body overseeing these issues within HP. Baez’s career spans more than three decades with global Fortune 100 companies in industries including manufacturing, packaged goods, aerospace and defense, and products and services for the scientific community. He graduated from the University of La Verne in California, with a degree in business administration.

“Broadening our Board’s membership in response to a transformed communications and digital landscape was a critical element of our strategic plan,” said Louis Freedberg, EdSource’s Executive Director, who also noted that the expansion coincides with the implementation of major new education reforms in California and nationally. “With the addition of Ramon, who brings extraordinary passion and purpose to his new role, EdSource is well positioned to continue to have a significant impact on the policies and public conversation that will lead to better schools and improved student outcomes.”

Chuck Pappalardo, managing director of executive search firm Trilogy Search Non+Profit, led the board search on behalf of the nonprofit.

Trilogy has worked with EdSource previously and has advised numerous nonprofit and education-focused organizations on talent acquisition and related needs.
